International Summer Programme

The International Summer Programme (ISP) is run by the Department of Linguistics and English Language, with the Departments of English Literature and History, at Lancaster University.

The programme is designed to give an introduction to study in a British university and British culture in general, to students from other countries.

The ISP offers one course in British Culture and Society 1800-2000, with a different focus each week, and a weekly field trip to a site near Lancaster that exemplifies the period studied. It is ideally suited to North American students who wish to attend a UK university for one term; it is worth 4 semester credits (8 ECTS credits). A term at a UK university is usually worth 12 credits and by attending the ISP, students will gain the additional credits needed to match a US semester, i.e. 16 credits.

See Programme Outline for further details.
